The Morocco Surf Club house sits in Tamraght, in Taghazout Bay south of Taghazout village and about 40–45 minutes from Agadir Al Massira Airport. It is a house, not a resort: private doubles and shared rooms, one terrace with a sea view where most of the evening happens, boards in the hallway, and dinner eaten together four nights a week. With 5 surfers coached at a time, you end up knowing everyone by Wednesday whether you planned to or not.
The rooms
Private double, or a bed in a shared room
There are two ways to sleep here. A bed in a shared twin, double or dormitory room is the entry tier at €360 per person for the week. A private double to yourself is €550, and if two of you take it and both surf, it is €720 — which works out at €360 each, the same as a shared bed.

J’ai adoré la décoration, qui mêle parfaitement esprit surf, authenticité marocaine et touches modernes. La terrasse offre une superbe vue sur l’océan et les environs.
La chambre était confortable, spacieuse et impeccable, avec un excellent lit et un calme très appréciable.
L’emplacement est également idéal, proche des commerces, restaurants et de la plage. Une très belle expérience que je renouvellerai avec plaisir !

The food
Breakfast every morning, four Moroccan dinners a week
Breakfast happens before the session, around 08:00, because nobody surfs well on an empty stomach and the tide does not wait. Four evenings a week the house cooks a traditional Moroccan dinner and everyone eats together at one table — which is, more than anything else here, how a group of strangers becomes a group.
The other three evenings are deliberately left free. Tamraght has places worth walking to, and charging you for meals you would rather eat in the village is not the deal. Tell us about allergies or a vegetarian or vegan diet when you send your dates.
The part that is hard to photograph
The terrace between the session and dinner
The genuinely good hours are not in the water. You come back salt-covered around four, shower, and end up on the terrace with tea while the light goes orange over the ocean. People compare waves they blew, argue about the forecast, and make plans for the next morning. Dinner is at eight.
Most guests arrive alone. That is the normal case here rather than the awkward one, and the shared meals and the five-surfer cap are what make it work. See the full rhythm on a typical day.
Why Tamraght
Between the beginner sand and the northern points
Tamraght is the middle of the three bases along the bay. It is quieter in the evenings than Taghazout village and less detached than Anza, and the daily drive is short in both directions — toward the beginner-friendly sand to the south, or the right-hand points to the north. What are the rooms actually like?
Rooms are a mix of private doubles and shared twin or dormitory rooms in a house within walking distance of the ocean, with a terrace that has a sea view. A published guest review describes the room as spacious and quiet with a good bed, and the decoration as a mix of surf, Moroccan and modern; read it in full on the reviews page rather than taking our summary for it.
What does the house feed you?
Breakfast every morning and four traditional Moroccan dinners across the week, eaten together at the house. The three remaining evenings are deliberately left open so guests can eat in the village, which is close enough to walk to.
Is there Wi-Fi and can I work remotely from the house?
There is Wi-Fi at the house and guests do work between sessions, but this is a small surf house rather than a co-working space: expect a terrace table and a normal residential connection, not a guaranteed desk, a backup line, or silence during a call. If a call cannot be missed, tell us the time and we will plan the session around it.
Can I train Brazilian jiu-jitsu as well as surf?
Jamal trains and a published guest review mentions training BJJ alongside the surfing during their stay. Treat it as something to arrange with him directly around the surf schedule rather than a timetabled part of the package — it is not included in the Surf & Stay price.
Is the house suitable for a solo traveller?
Most guests arrive alone. Meals are eaten together, the coaching group is capped at five, and the terrace is where the evening happens, so the house is built for people who did not arrive with a group. If you want the room to yourself while still eating with everyone, the private double at €550 is the tier for that.
