Surf guiding in Morocco for surfers who already paddle out

Surf Guiding is Morocco Surf Club’s week for independent surfers in Taghazout Bay, near Agadir. You do not need lessons; you need someone who knows which break works on today’s tide, swell and wind, and a ride there. A local guide reads the conditions, takes the group to the right spot and surfs the session with you.

From €430 per person for seven days: accommodation, breakfast and dinner, six surf days with one 2-hour guided session each, spot transport and one full-day surf trip. A second session on any surf day is a paid extra. Your room and total are confirmed in writing before any deposit.

Level check

Is Surf Guiding right for your level?

A guide takes you to good waves; it does not teach you to ride them. If everything in the left column is true, this is your week. If anything on the right sounds familiar, the intermediate coached week will move you further, starting from €360.

Surf Guiding vs Surf & Stay

Both weeks run six surf days and one rest day, with the break chosen each morning from the conditions. The difference is what happens in the water. See every Surf & Stay room tier on the Surf & Stay page.

Where you surf

How the guide picks the break each day

Taghazout Bay packs sand breaks, reefs and right-hand points into a short stretch of coast. Each morning the guide checks swell size, period and direction against the tide, wind and crowd, then picks the break that suits the group. Expect spots such as Anza, Tamraght, Banana Point, La Source and Panoramas, plus the bigger points when they are working and the group can handle them.

Surf Guiding questions

Surf Guiding — your questions answered

What independent surfers ask before booking a guided week in Taghazout Bay.

What is Surf Guiding?

Surf Guiding is a seven-day package for surfers who already paddle out and surf on their own. From €430 per person, it includes accommodation, breakfast and dinner, six surf days with one 2-hour guided session at the day’s best spot, spot transport and one full-day surf trip. There is no lesson structure.

How is Surf Guiding different from Surf & Stay?

Surf & Stay is a coached week: a coach sets a goal for each session, corrects you in the water and runs video review. Surf Guiding is spot access: a local guide reads the conditions, takes you to the break that suits them and surfs the session with you, but does not teach. Both run six surf days and one rest day.

Can I add a second session on a Surf Guiding day?

Yes. A second guided session on any surf day is a paid extra. Tell us how many you want with your dates and each one is priced as its own line in your written quote.

Am I good enough for Surf Guiding?

Book Surf Guiding if you can paddle out unassisted, catch unbroken waves without a push, ride along the face and get back to the peak on your own. If any of that is not yet true, the intermediate or beginner coached week will move you faster for less money.

Are board and wetsuit included in Surf Guiding?

Equipment is listed for the coached weeks, not for Surf Guiding. Most guiding guests bring their own board. Tell us what you are bringing and what you need when you ask for dates, and your quote confirms the equipment line before any deposit.

What is the full-day surf trip?

One day of the week the guide takes the group further along the coast to a quieter break chosen from the swell forecast. The destination is decided a day or two ahead, so no specific wave is promised in advance.
