Surf lessons in Taghazout Bay, coached in groups of five.
Two hours in the water every day with an ISA-qualified coach who actually sees your waves — not a beach instructor shouting at a crowd. Board, wetsuit, and spot selection sorted, so you just paddle out and progress.
What a lesson actually includes
A briefing, two hours in the water, and feedback you can use tomorrow
Every surf lesson with Morocco Surf Club is built around the same idea: small enough groups that the coach watches each pop-up, picks the spot around the tide, and tells you the one thing to change next session.
Before you paddle out
A beach brief on the day's conditions, where the safe takeoff zone is, and the single skill we are working on — so you enter the water with a plan, not just hope.
In the water
Two hours of coached surfing with feedback between sets. Beginners start on stable foam boards in white water; improvers work line choice and timing on mellow green walls.
After the session
A quick debrief and, on select days, video so you can see what your pop-up and stance are really doing — the part most cheap lessons skip entirely.

Who coaches you
Jamal · Lead surf coach
You book knowing who is in the water with you. Jamal coaches the lessons himself — ISA-qualified, with current lifeguard and CPR certifications, reading the Taghazout forecast every morning.
Jamal has been a surf instructor in Taghazout Bay since 2014. Calm, multilingual, and highly experienced at matching surf guidance to the level and confidence of each guest in the group.
Coaching from Tamraght since 2014.
Where lessons happen
Beginner-friendly breaks, chosen around the tide
Beginner lessons run on the sand-bottom setups in Taghazout Bay — Panoramas and Banana Point — where the takeoff zone is open and the fall is safe. As you progress, we move to mellow shoulders that reward better timing.
We never put a lesson group into heavy point breaks like Anchor Point. The spot follows your level and the morning forecast, not a fixed timetable.

Lessons, a beginner week, or a full camp
How daily lessons fit into a week
Our coaching is built around full weeks because progress compounds day over day — but here is how the pieces relate so you can pick what fits your trip.
Daily lessons in a week
On the Surf & Stay week you get one two-hour coached lesson every day, plus board, wetsuit, transport, and accommodation — from From €330 / person · 7 nights.
See full camp & pricing →Never surfed before
If this is your first time on a board, the beginner week is structured around your first pop-up to your first green wave, with all the reassurance built in.
Beginner surf camp →A single day lesson
Already in the Taghazout area and want one coached session? We can sometimes arrange standalone day lessons — message us your dates and we quote it honestly in writing.

Surf lessons in Taghazout — common questions
Tap a question — same wording we confirm by email before you book.
How long is each surf lesson in Taghazout?
Each coached session runs roughly two hours in the water, plus a beach briefing before and feedback after. On Surf & Stay weeks you get one daily lesson; Surf Guiding runs two guided sessions a day. The exact timing follows the tide, so a lesson may start early or late depending on the morning forecast.
How many people are in a surf lesson?
Groups are capped at 5 surfers per coach. That cap is the whole point — it is what lets Jamal watch every pop-up and give feedback between sets instead of shouting generic tips from the beach.
Are board and wetsuit included in the lessons?
Yes. Boards and wetsuits sized to your height, weight, and stage are included in every coached week. Beginners start on stable, high-volume foam boards; we move you to smaller boards only when your pop-up and timing are ready.
Do I need to be able to swim?
You should be comfortable swimming in open water and willing to follow surf-safety instructions. You do not need to be a strong swimmer for beginner sand-bottom breaks, but you must not be afraid of being in the sea.
Can I book a single day of surf lessons instead of a week?
Our coaching is built around full weeks because progress compounds day over day, but we can sometimes arrange standalone day lessons for guests already in the Taghazout area. Message us with your dates and level and we will tell you honestly what is possible and quote it in writing.
Who teaches the surf lessons?
Lessons are led by ISA-qualified instructors with current beach-lifeguard and CPR certifications. Most weeks your lead coach is Jamal, who has coached from Tamraght since 2014. You book knowing who is in the water with you, not a rotating roster.
