Where we surf

Surf coaching around Taghazout, Tamraght, Anza & Agadir

We choose the spot based on your level, the tide, the wind and the swell. Most weeks move between Tamraght, Taghazout, Anza, Banana Point, La Source, Panoramas and nearby breaks around Agadir.

Anza

Forgiving waves and a local atmosphere — a steady warm-up spot when the bay first wakes up.

Beginner-friendly

Tamraght

Our home base. Easy logistics, sand-bottom training peaks, and short drives to every other break.

All levels

Taghazout

Famous points and the energy of a true surf town. Used when the swell lines up clean.

Intermediate +

Banana Point

A patient right with sand and reef patches. Good for progression days when you want repetition.

Beginner → intermediate

Panoramas

Beach-break style training zone — clean shoulders on the right wind, ideal for pop-up reps.

Beginner-friendly

La Source

Playful right reef and point zone — saved for the days when the swell and tide invite it.

Intermediate +

Spot called by the coach the night before — confirmed at the morning brief once we read the lineup. Full Taghazout surf map →

The method

Most camps
sell sunsets.
We sell progress.

Four beats, repeated all week. Not a holiday with surfing on the side — a coached block that still feels like the best week of your year.

01

Know your level in 1 session

We start from what you actually do in the water — stance, timing, and wave choice — not a generic group brief.

02

Right wave, right day

Sessions follow tide and swell in Taghazout Bay so beginners are not parked in breaks that belong to advanced locals.

03

Surf → review → fix → repeat

Shoreline coaching every day, plus select moments where video-style review helps you see what to fix next.

04

Lock the arc by day seven

Safety and reps first, then line choice and cleaner green faces when the Atlantic allows it — until the new habit sticks.

The week, in three commitments

Every session counts. Coached sessions in Taghazout Bay — spots matched to your level, not a brochure photo.

Feedback every session

A coach on your stance, timing, and wave choice — not one generic tip for a crowd.

Seven-day surf camp

The right spot every day

We move with tide, wind, and swell so beginners are not pushed into advanced breaks.

A clear progression plan

Seven days in order: safety and pop-ups, line choice, then cleaner green waves when the ocean allows.

Meet Jamal,
your local surf coach in Taghazout Bay

Jamal has coached surfers around Tamraght, Taghazout, Anza and Agadir since 2014. He speaks English, French, Arabic and Spanish, and keeps groups small so every surfer gets clear feedback in the water — not just a generic lesson on the beach.

“Five people in a group means I see every pop-up. Small tweaks land while the session is still in your body — not as a video review three days later.”

Small groups

Maximum 5 surfers per coach. The cap is the whole reason the method works.

Real feedback

Positioning, timing, paddling, take-off and wave choice — debriefed by name between sets.

FAQ about surf camps in Morocco

The same wording we confirm by email before you book — covering what is included, where we surf, group size, and the difference between packages.

What is included in the Morocco Surf Club camp?

The Surf & Stay package includes 7 nights of accommodation near the ocean, daily breakfast and four traditional dinners, a two-hour surf class every day with a qualified instructor, board and wetsuit, transport to the best spot of the day, and daily video analysis. Surf Guiding swaps lessons for guided sessions; Private Week books the whole coaching team for your group.

Is this surf camp good for beginners?

Yes. Morocco Surf Club is built around beginners and early intermediates. Groups are capped at 5 surfers per coach, sessions start on sand-bottom breaks like Panoramas or Banana Point, and Jamal adjusts the spot, board, and brief to the level of every guest in the water.

Where is the surf camp based?

We are based in Tamraght on Taghazout Bay in Morocco, a short drive south of Agadir. Each day we surf Anza, Tamraght, Taghazout, Banana Point, La Source, Panoramas, or other breaks around Agadir, depending on tide, wind, and swell.

Do you surf in Anza or Taghazout?

Both, plus Tamraght and the wider Agadir bay. The coach chooses the spot every morning based on conditions and your level. Anza is forgiving with a strong local atmosphere; Taghazout and Banana Point are better when the swell lines up for points.

Are board and wetsuit included?

Yes. Boards and wetsuits sized to you are included in every Surf & Stay and Private Week package. Bring swimwear, sunscreen, a towel, and light layers for wind — we provide everything else for the surf sessions.

How many surfers are in each group?

Groups are capped at 5 surfers per coach. The cap is the most important number on this site — it is what makes feedback between sets possible instead of generic shouted tips from the beach.

What is the difference between Surf & Stay and Surf Guiding?

Surf & Stay is for beginners and progressing surfers — full coaching, accommodation, meals, and equipment included. Surf Guiding is for surfers who already paddle out independently and want a local guide for spot selection, transport, and condition-based planning around Taghazout Bay.

When is the best time to surf in Morocco?

Taghazout Bay produces consistent swell from October through March, with the most powerful sessions in winter. Spring offers softer, friendlier waves that suit many first-timers. Summer is smaller and more variable but still coachable on sand breaks.

Do I need previous surf experience?

No. Complete beginners are welcome — most of our guests have never stood up before they arrive. We also coach early intermediates who want cleaner technique on Atlantic points and sand breaks.

Can I book a private surf week?

Yes. The Private Week buys out the coaching team for your group — same lead coach, same progression structure, custom dates and add-ons (video review, yoga, photographer). Tell us your dates and we plan around them.
